Choosing the right Perfit Liner cover
-
Match exact bed length
You must select the cover length that matches your truck bed exactly. The 6.9 ft model fits specific HD trucks, while the 6.4 ft version is for Ram 1500s. The 5.5 ft option is designed for Ford F-150 short beds. Using the wrong size compromises fit and security. Check your bed measurement before buying. Perfit Liner models are not interchangeable across different bed lengths. Ensure the listed size aligns with your vehicle's specifications for proper installation and operation.
-
Check hard structure weight
Hard covers provide robust protection but add significant weight to your truck. The 6.9 ft model weighs 75 pounds. This heavy structure secures heavy loads effectively. You need a sturdy frame to support substantial cargo without flexing. The hard quad-fold design offers durability for daily use. Consider your truck's payload capacity when adding this weight. Heavier covers often mean better resistance to impact. Verify the weight specification to ensure it suits your hauling needs.
-
Verify compatible truck models
Compatibility is specific to make and model. The 6.9 ft cover is for Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra. The 6.4 ft option works with Dodge Ram 1500. The 5.5 ft version fits Ford F-150. You must ensure your truck is listed for the cover. These covers do not fit all trucks in a brand line. Check the compatible truck list for your exact year and model. Mismatched compatibility leads to installation failures. Confirm your vehicle is in the supported list before purchasing.
-
Confirm cab size fit
Cab size affects the overall fit of the cover. All listed Perfit Liner options are for Quad Cab configurations. You need to ensure your truck has a Quad Cab. The cover dimensions are designed to work with this specific cab style. Using a different cab size may result in poor alignment. Check your truck's cab designation before ordering. The fit relies on the interaction between the bed and cab. Verify this detail to avoid compatibility issues during installation.
-
Assess weather resistance needs
Hard covers offer superior weather protection compared to soft alternatives. The 6.4 ft model provides waterproof coverage for Ram trucks. You need this feature if you store sensitive items. The hard structure creates a sealed barrier against rain. This protects your cargo from moisture damage. Consider your local climate when choosing a cover. Waterproofing is essential for long-term cargo preservation. The hard quad-fold design enhances this protection by minimizing gaps.
