Choosing the Right Bestwyll Tonneau Cover
-
Match Bed Length Precisely
You must verify your truck bed dimensions before purchasing. Bestwyll offers distinct models for 5.5 ft and 5.8 ft beds. The electric retractable covers are designed specifically for the 5.5 ft short bed found on Ford F-150s from 2015 to 2026. Using a cover with the wrong size spec will result in improper fitment and compromised security. Check your vehicle’s exact bed measurement to ensure the product aligns with your truck’s physical specifications. This step prevents compatibility issues right from the start.
-
Select Electric or Manual Operation
Decide whether you need powered convenience or manual simplicity. The Bestwyll Electric Retractable F-150 cover provides smartphone and remote access for effortless operation. This electric option suits owners who prioritize quick access and modern integration. Alternatively, the manual retractable model for 5.8 ft beds removes electrical components. You should choose the manual version if you prefer a simpler mechanical system without power requirements. Your choice depends on how often you access your bed and your preference for automation.
-
Verify Truck Compatibility
Ensure the cover matches your specific truck make and model. Bestwyll produces covers tailored for Ford F-150s and GM trucks like the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra. The electric models are listed for Ford F-150s, while the 5.8 ft manual cover fits standard beds on GM vehicles. Do not assume universal fitment. Confirm the compatible truck specification in the product data. This verification ensures the mounting system aligns with your truck’s bed rails and maintains structural integrity during use.
-
Consider Hard Shell Durability
Opt for hard shell structures if you need maximum protection. All listed Bestwyll covers feature a hard structure made from aluminum. This material provides secure protection for your cargo against weather and theft. The aluminum construction also contributes to a low profile, which can improve aerodynamics. If you require a durable, rigid cover that withstands heavy use, the hard shell retractable design is a practical choice. This spec ensures your bed remains protected while maintaining a sleek appearance on your truck.
-
Check Model Year Range
Confirm the cover fits your truck’s model year range. The electric F-150 covers are specified for years 2015 through 2026. The 5.8 ft manual cover fits standard beds from 2014 to 2026. Always cross-reference your vehicle’s production year with the product’s compatibility list. This step ensures the mounting hardware and rail system align correctly with your truck’s design. Ignoring this spec may lead to installation difficulties or improper sealing, reducing the cover’s effectiveness and security.
