Spec Comparison: Bed Size and Fit
Bed Size
The Flowkottu 6 ft Retractable Aluminum Tacoma Cover is designed specifically for a 6-foot truck bed. This longer span provides additional cargo space for larger items. In contrast, the Flowkottu Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 ft model fits a 5.7-foot bed. This size is standard for many Dodge Ram pickups. You must match the cover to your exact bed length. A mismatch will leave gaps or require difficult modifications. The Tacoma cover offers two extra inches of length. The Ram cover is tailored for the shorter bed. Choose the option that matches your truck's bed dimensions precisely.
Compatible Truck
Compatibility is the primary differentiator between these two covers. The Flowkottu 6 ft Retractable Aluminum Tacoma Cover is engineered exclusively for Toyota Tacoma models from 2016 through 2026. It will not fit other trucks. The Flowkottu Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 ft model is built for Dodge Ram 1500 trucks from 2009 through 2026. These are distinct vehicle platforms with different bed rails and mounting points. You cannot swap these covers between brands. Verify your truck make and model year before purchasing. Each cover is a direct fit for its specific manufacturer.
Material
Both covers share the same core material construction. The Flowkottu 6 ft Retractable Aluminum Tacoma Cover uses an aluminum body with standing seam aluminum slats. The Flowkottu Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 ft model also features aluminum slats and an aluminum canister. This material choice provides durability and resistance to corrosion. The dark matte powder coating protects both covers from scratches and UV damage. The aluminum slats are virtually impenetrable to knives. This shared material quality ensures similar security and weather protection. You get the same robust build quality regardless of the truck brand.
Cover Style
Both products utilize a retractable cover style. The Flowkottu 6 ft Retractable Aluminum Tacoma Cover slides automatically along side rails when unlocked. The Flowkottu Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 ft model operates similarly, retracting into an aluminum canister at the front of the bed. This style allows for full bed access without removing panels. It also maintains a low profile that sits flush with the bed. Unlike tri-fold covers, these do not obstruct the rear windshield when open. The automatic retraction mechanism simplifies daily use for both covers.
Weight Capacity
Both covers support significant weight on their surface. The Flowkottu 6 ft Retractable Aluminum Tacoma Cover can support up to 600 lbs of evenly distributed weight. The Flowkottu Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 ft model offers the same 600 lb capacity. This allows you to place heavy gear or equipment on top of the closed cover. The aluminum construction provides the necessary rigidity to handle this load. Ensure the weight is distributed evenly to prevent stress on the slats. This capacity is identical for both the Tacoma and Ram models.
Choose the right fit for your truck

Users needing maximum cargo length
The 6-foot bed option offers more longitudinal space. This is ideal for carrying longer items like lumber or kayaks. The aluminum body remains strong across the wider span.
