Comparing JOYTUTUS Soft Topper Models
Compatible truck
The JOYTUTUS Soft Topper for 6ft Tacoma is built specifically for the 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma with a six-foot bed. The JOYTUTUS 5.5 ft Soft Topper fits the 2015-2026 Ford F-150 with a five-and-a-half-foot bed. You must match the cover to your specific truck make and model. Neither cover works for both vehicles. Check your truck year and bed length carefully before purchasing. Choosing the wrong fitment will result in installation issues and poor protection for your cargo area.
Bed size
Bed length is a critical specification for tonneau covers. The Tacoma model covers a six-foot bed. The F-150 model covers a five-and-a-half-foot bed. This half-foot difference affects how the cover sits on the truck bed rails. A proper fit ensures the fabric stays taut and the windows align correctly. If you have a six-foot bed, the five-and-a-half-foot cover will be too short. If you have a five-and-a-half-foot bed, the six-foot cover will be too long. Select the size that matches your truck exactly.
Material composition
Both covers share the same core material specifications. They use steel bases and aluminum alloy support poles for structure. The covering material is water-resistant and tear-resistant Oxford fabric. High-clarity PVC films are used for the windows on both models. This shared construction means both offer similar durability against everyday wear. The materials are designed to withstand outdoor conditions while remaining flexible for folding. You get comparable build quality regardless of which truck model you choose.
Tail gate security
The JOYTUTUS Soft Topper for 6ft Tacoma includes a reinforced dual tail buckle with an upgraded shock-absorbing structure. This feature secures the cover tightly on rough roads and helps block dust and moisture. The data for the JOYTUTUS 5.5 ft Soft Topper does not mention this specific dual buckle or shock-absorbing mechanism. While it likely has a standard closure, the Tacoma model explicitly highlights this enhanced security feature. If you drive on rough terrain often, this detail may matter to you.
Warranty coverage
Product service periods differ between the two models. The JOYTUTUS Soft Topper for 6ft Tacoma provides three years of product service. The JOYTUTUS 5.5 ft Soft Topper provides two years of product service. A longer warranty period indicates greater confidence in the product's longevity. Both require no drilling for installation. However, the three-year coverage on the Tacoma model offers you more time of protection against defects. This is a clear advantage if you plan to keep the truck for several years.
