Specs: 6.5ft Ford vs 6.4ft Ram Covers
Compatible truck
Product A is designed specifically for the 2015 through 2026 Ford F-150 models. It fits the 6.5-foot styleside bed only. Product B covers a much broader range of vehicles. It fits the 2002 through 2026 Dodge Ram 1500, including the Classic edition. It also works with the 2003 through 2026 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500. You must choose based on your truck brand. A Ford owner needs Product A. A Dodge owner needs Product B. There is no overlap in their intended applications.
Bed size
Product A fits a 6.5-foot truck bed. This measurement is standard for many full-size trucks. Product B fits a 6.4-foot truck bed. The data lists this as 78 inches. While the difference is small, it matters for fitment. A 6.5-foot cover will not fit a 6.4-foot bed properly. A 6.4-foot cover may be too loose for a 6.5-foot bed. You must measure your bed length carefully. The correct size ensures the cover seals correctly. Match the number to your truck's specifications exactly.
Bed type
Product A requires a styleside bed. This is the most common bed style for the Ford F-150. It has smooth, vertical sides. Product B requires a fleetside bed. This is the standard bed style for Dodge Ram trucks. It also features vertical sides. Both terms describe the same general shape. However, the mounting clamps are designed for the specific flange style of each brand. You cannot swap them. Ensure your truck has the correct bed type for the cover you select.
Material
Product A uses double-sided tear-resistant vinyl. It is wrapped around heavy-duty aluminum powder-coated frames. This construction provides security and stability. Product B uses premium double-layer PVC. It passes anti-UV and high tensile strength tests. It also uses upgraded powder-coated aluminum guide rails. Both materials offer waterproof and UV-resistant protection. Product B explicitly mentions resistance to rain, snow, dust, and dirt. Product A mentions keeping equipment dry. Both aim for durability in harsh weather conditions.
Installation
Product A offers no-drill installation. It includes all required harnesses. An installation manual is provided. It also includes one stick touch lamp. Product B uses a fully drill-free, tool-free clamp-on mounting system. It features upgraded adjustable-hole fixtures. It comes with a detailed English instruction manual. You can assemble it without professional skills or external tools. Product B emphasizes the ease of daily disassembly and maintenance. Both systems avoid drilling into your truck bed. Product B highlights the tool-free aspect more strongly.
Structure
Both covers use a soft quad-fold structure. This means the cover folds into four sections. Product A uses four horizontal crossbars to ensure stability. This keeps the cover rigid when open. Product B features an adjustable opening design. You can control the truck bed opening size. This allows you to load long or large cargo easily. The folding structure saves space when fully closed. Product B highlights this flexible space benefit. Both designs offer similar folding mechanics for bed access.
